Oven Roasted Sheet Pan Bacon
Oven Roasted Sheet Pan Bacon
This is the only method I use for cooking bacon. There are many great brands to choose from and I always use the thick-cut style for this recipe. Our family fave bacon is Dabecca Uncured Bacon which is sold at our local Costco.
Equipment
- Good quality sheet pan
- Heavy duty foil.
Ingredients
- Thick Cut Bacon
- Freshly ground black pepper
Instructions
- Preheat oven to 400 degrees.
- Use whatever size sheet pan needed for the amount of bacon you’re cooking and cover the pan tightly with heavy duty foil.
- Place the slices side by side in the pan and sprinkle with pepper.
- Cook for about 20 minutes, rotating the pan halfway through, for even cooking.
- Required cooking time will depend upon how thick your bacon is and how well done you prefer it.
- We like ours ‘just crispy’ but not overly crisp and it usually takes about 25 minutes total time.
- Remove pan from oven and drain bacon on paper towels.
- Pour bacon fat in glass jar or other container to keep in fridge for delicious seasoning in all kinds of dishes!!
Notes
I love this method as it is so simple and the bacon always turns out perfectly cooked and in nice straight pieces for eating, dicing for recipes, etc.
Using the heavy-duty foil provides an easy clean-up!
